I'm Back

I know I've been M.I.A. for quite a while but I have been taking a break from the computer world just popping in once in a while to check e-mail and other things. Most of my time has been spent with my daughter and her Barbie house. I will be spending more time on the computer come Monday because that is when my second year at DeVry starts. Well technically I can access my class on Sunday so I guess I will spend more time on the computer come Sunday. I will probably be M.I.A. the week of July 12-18 or 19 because I will be dog sitting for my aunt in New Mexico. I will miss my hubby but I am actually excited! It's been a while since I've left town. Well, I will try to be a bit better at keeping you all posted.

Until next time...

I Know Why They're Called...

The "terrible twos." For the past week my days have been filled with repeated requests, nos, don't s, and lots of screaming. That's just to name a few. When it first hit last Tuesday, I didn't quite know what was going on or what to do about it. The next day, Wednesday, my daughter got ten time outs and I felt like a horrible mom. By the end of the next day I completely broke down and left my husband in charge of her final fit of the evening. I sat down worrying about the next day and one after that and so on. I finally called my mom for advice on how to handle the tantrums. I knew she would know because I was quite a tantrum thrower in my day. I've heard stories that would make any mother cringe. She started off with a bit of a giggle and said, "They don't call it the terrible twos for nothing..." My mom, being as great as she is, told me that my daughter is learning right from wrong and it's my job to guide her. My mom also said that she will be testing and pushing the limits and that I need to make sure she understands that I am the parent. After a long conversation and few pointers from my mom she ended by saying that this too shall pass and everything will be ok. I know that if I can be even half the mom my mom is to me, I will be a great mom to my daughter. Anyway, by the end of last week I was handling my daughter's random fits more calmly and was more patient. I've noticed that she does a lot better when the TV is off in the mornings - we used to watch Playhouse Disney. She also does better when I don't do my school work while she's awake - easily solved by waiting until she sleeps in the afternoon and at night. Although it can be tough at times and sometimes you feel like pulling your hair out, being a parent is the greatest adventure a person gets to experience.

Polythings

I am on the internet daily going from site to site looking for different products or services. I found a website called polythings.com where you can find virtually anything on just one site. Not just that but, for the amount of content, this site is well organized and easy to navigate. A lot of the sites found on polythings.com are not mainstream enough to be known by everyone but they are good and it's great that polythings.com has given them a chance to be seen and browsed by many. Another great thing about this site is that while you search around or browse through the different topics, you will find sites that you wouldn't normally think of looking at but will be glad you did. Just to name a few categories found on this site, you will see content on:
-Education
-Web Design
-Promotion
-Self Employment
-Finance
-Games
-Music
-Web Hosting
-Women's Health
-Beauty
-Nutrition
And that's not even half of it! Of course like with anything I post here... don't just take my word for it, go see the Best Premium Virtual Products In One Single Place! Personally, I will be in the Computing & Internet section looking at Site Design sites. I've already found a couple I can't wait to explore further. So, if you kind people will excuse me, I am going to put my exploring cap on and visit some different domains.

Until next time...
